Ivory Iris Cuvettes 5mm, 4mm & 2mm - Norman Hartnell Archive

Vintage cup sequins in a warm, creamy ivory with an iris finish, from the archive of Mollie Welch, tambour embroiderer in Norman Hartnell’s workroom.

The faceted cups glow with a soft rainbow sheen over the cream, richer and warmer than a plain white. The kind of ivory couture houses used for bridal gowns, veils and evening embroidery.

Three matching sizes, all in the same ivory:

• 5mm: full hank, or a single thread for smaller projects
• 4mm: hank of 8 threads
• 2mm: hank of 10 threads. Tiny cuvettes this small are hard to find today, lovely for fine outlines and delicate details

Use them together to shade from large to tiny in one colour. In lovely condition.
