Elephant Brooch - Joseff of Hollywood Cast // Natural Pearls

This brooch is made from vintage elephant head casting (c 1940s), which I miraculously discovered in a vintage warehouse in London. Small but mighty, each one stamped with old Hollywood energy.
These weren't just any castings. They're relics from Joseff of Hollywood, the legendary brand behind jewelry for Cleopatra, Gone With the Wind, and hundreds of other classics. Eugene Joseff made his pieces purposely not shiny. His matte gold finish was Hollywood's secret weapon: it didn't reflect harsh studio lights, so stars could dazzle without camera glare ruining the illusion. That's why, if you look closely, Joseff jewels feel almost timeless with their soft, brushed patina - never too new, never too flashy, always just dramatic enough.
The brand is pure movie history. Elizabeth Taylor wore Joseff in Cleopatra (yes, that Cleopatra!), Vivien Leigh in Gone with the Wind, and Rita Hayworth in Gilda. Even Marilyn Monroe rocked Joseff pieces. What's wild is that these elephant heads were inspired by the Jungle Book era, which brought animal motifs and fantasy into Hollywood jewellery design.
Additionally featuring natural pearls and vintage beads "Made in Czechoslovakia" likely dating from the mid-20th century before the dissolution of Czechoslovakia.
Hand-made in London, only 3 copies will be produced. This is firstly because the materials are all vintage and thus limited, and secondly because I enjoy designing rather than doing the same stock all the time.
